Mr Magorium, Wonder Emporium

Last Thurs had been uneventful, just that Tauhid class at Asy-syafaah mosque.

Fri morning, Hidayah called me to ask if im free that night. I said im free as a bird. She asked me to go catch a movie!!

So we met at Jurong East at 6:15pm. Dinner at LONG JOHN SILVER. and bought tickets for Mr Magorium, Wonder Emporium.

It was really nice! It's very kiddish but we all have a kiddish part in us, no matter how serious you look on the surface. It's a fantasy movie about a MAGICAL toy store that needs a change of management. I would have LOVED it if the toy store was real... :( Anyways, the heroine was a budding pianist in her younger days. So there were a lot of Piano scenes... and i can't help remembering my faraway pianist of a husband.

I have been carefully steering clear from watching any love stories for fear of missing him too much, but can still manage to assoc everything to Zubair. Sighh...

Tmrw is another movie night with Hid. It's her choice of Alvin and the Chipmunks, this time around at Causeway Point. Yayy..

In the following excerpts from The Cave 18:12&13, ALLAH is telling us that happiness, enjoying and thrill all come from HIM.

It was proven from the story of the youth of Ashabul Kahfi, who ran and hide in a cave for 309years.......imagine and think.....309 years and not days in a cave and they had no complaints of beeing boring, dull etc...

ALLAH loves them and entertained them, coz, they give themselves in the hands of ALLAH.

So ultimately, it is our attachment with ALLAH will give us the real hapiness and not a movie, children and husband etc...rather those are the gifts of ALLAH TO ENTERTAIN US.

It seems to me now that all my princesses are already too much attached to this world that you guys do not have ALLAH in your heart anymore, as you guys love this worldly affairs more than any affairs that are connected to ALLAH.

It shows as a small worldly matter can make you guys unhappy, complaining etc.....

read on...what ALLAH said about the 7 sleepers...

Translation, Commentary & Explanation of Chapter 18 Al-Kahfi.

Translation of verse 10.

The youth hid in the cave and said "Our Lord shower upon
us mercy from You, and accomplish our affair with the
right guidance.

Tafsir Jalalain.

Remember that when the youth were finding a hiding place
in the cave, they were worried of their faith being
influenced by the unbelieving people around them. So
they prayed, "Our Lord shower upon us mercy from You,
and accomplish and make good our affair with the right
guidance"

Tafsir Muhammad Asad.

When those youth took refuge in the cave, they prayed,
"O our Sustainer, bestow on us Your grace, and
endow us, whatever our outward condition, with
consciousness of what is right."

================================

Translation of verse 11.

Then We covered their ears in the cave for a number of
years.

Tafsir Jalalain.

Then We covered their ears by putting them to sleep
for a number of years in the cave.

Tafsir Muhammad Asad.

And thereupon We veiled their ears in the cave for many
a year.

God caused them to remain cut-off, physically or
metaphorically, from then sounds and the bustle of the
outside world. The classical commentators take the
above phrase to mean that God
"veiled their ears with sleep".

Tafsir Abdullah Yusuf Ali.

Covered their ears means a veil sealing their ears,
so that they hear nothing. As they were in the cave,
they saw nothing . They were completely cut off from
the outer world, as if they had died. Their knowledge
and ideas stopped at the point they entered the cave.
