Wow! This morning is the liat to wake up. My mum complained while shaking and tickling me to wake up. It is quite surprising considering what a light sleeper i usually am. But it is also not such a big wonder cos ...... IT'S THE FIRST MORNING I HAFTA GO TO WORK AFTER A WEEK'S HOLIDAY!!!
Well.. you see the big boss of this Strategic Partners is a superstitious CHinese and he BANNED people from coming in to the office from 9th Feb 05 to 15th Feb at 11am. It was said that if they work on those days, prosperity won't come. Is that great or is that great!! Although, legally, he's not my employer. He is just a director of this group of agency. He's not the one paying my salary; rather Jessie, Yong Phio and Kamal are. But in any case, we are glad he is superstitious!!
Sharifah told me before the company shuts down that usually the first day the office opens after CNY, we are supposed to give the bosses two oranges. and we'll be getting Hong Bao in exchange and that there'll be Lion Dance and all. So on Monday, i bought 10 oranges. although i only have 3 direct bosses... i think i should give to the other managers too if i wanna collect Hong Bao from them i thought....
But Tuesday morning was not exactly a perfect morning for me. I woke up at 9.50am when i was supposed to come in office at 11am. Journey by MRt would take 45min already, how soon must i get ready now? But i cont lying on the bed, saying to myself, i'm gonna get ready at 10.10, go out at 10.30 and take the cab to office (20min drive) and i'll be just on time. But i ended up leaving home at 10.34am and went to Civic Centre to draw money and buy bfast. I stood along Wlands Ave 5 the Civic Centre Bus Stop there. even at 10.45am there's a lot of other people in front of me flagging their arms to death! i waited for 10mins before i called a cab. It would have cost me only $14 if i didn't call. There's a $3 additional charge. (the best is yet to come though and Azma take note that i spend avr of $20 per ride on a cab - staying in Wlands and all - though your project is over. hekrhekrhkerh)
By the time i had reached office, i discovered that everybody was there! and i mean EVERYBODY until i didnt even have a seat on my table! And then i discovered that my milo spilled in my paper bag and got it all over my Orange plastic bag! It's lilke bursting with the heavy weight and all. Urghhh!! Luckily the oranges are INSIDE the bag and didn't get any choc taste on it. I didn't get to eat my bfast yet cos one thing too many people paisei and another thing my bosses rush to give me instructions and there were a few things i needed to clear that morning.
But by 11.35 the Lion Dance people are high already! It was scary to see the bulkness of the lion's head and its butt to be tilting and butting around in such a crampy place. It went into my boss' room first. FOr awhile i thought i was gonna jump on the table! But it didn't. Instead, the person in front like bend his body on the table and put the lion's face right on top of the laid oranges, he peeled the skin and throw it back out the mouth! he peeled all 3 oranges (it was an ordeal waiting for it) and throw it all back out! what a waste or good orange. And then, my friend told me that he's got a 4D no. from that! (????)
After the Lion Dance was over, it was the wishing time! But Sharifah only brought two oranges with her so i thought she was only giving her boss. so i brough two with me also lah i thought i can always come back to my place to take some more after that. But then her boss gave her two oranges in HIS hands to her after she did... and when i gave mine to him, i got the two that was sharifah's. Ler.... It's supposed to be an EXCHANGE!!! And i brought ALL 10 of them heavy oranges!!!! Paisei!! Luckily i didn't show to anybody yet! kerherhkerhkhkerhker
But it was a paisei thing to be queueing up like tt. Bcos in a way we were expecting Hong Baos right.. and then It'd seem like begging!! Furthermore, most of the other managers don't remember me! Damn Awkward. Oh Gosh except that Big Boss though i'm sure he didn't remember my name but he did say to me, "ok Next time, don't be so shy.. Every time i see you, you lower your head." I stupidly exclaimed, "Is it?!" and giggled myself away. Oh Gosh!! It's sooooo embarassing!!!
Then the next manager, i got the last packet. and my friend Yani who was behind me didn't get! So sad. and i feel a bit bad to have gotten the last one. Cos this particular manager is the best amongst them. That's Sunny Sim for you.
Then we went to the next millionaire. He was very efficient in greeting his people and clearing his queue. Probably cos he didn't know us ley.. but of course he knows Sharifah. This time i got the 3rd last packet. It is embarassing, But good news is i got 6 packets worth $50! *beam* at least can cover my taxi fare! krekerhhkrekherkher
Then at one point, Salmah one of my advisers, observed one thing and jokingly expressed "E Eh jorang ni.. kita hari raya minta maaf pun takdelah gini lama..." and then i added, "Oh a ah.. kitorang selalu minta maaf nangis2.. jorang wish ketawa2, senyum2" Bagus jugak lah kan.
i can describe to you the atmosphere in one word: MERRY. It was a happy time where we all laugh and make a fool of ourselves without getting drunk first. And actually only now i realise while im typing this that for the first time, i do feel part of them.
The Strategic Partners Chinese New Year
Once Bitten Twice Shy
Aiyoyooooo Scary liao!
It was a day that i will never forget. I never in my life saw them and never ever want to see them again.....
That day I was crossing along Anson Road back to office. I was walking against the one way traffic. I came to this junction. I looked left for the oncoming cars - clear. I didnt look right because that road is also one way. So i half ran half walked to cross over.
AND THEN!
I saw two ladies in white................
and blue approaching me...
with boots and hats... Oh No! Don't tell me you're catching me...
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO...........
It's the traffic police!!! One of them approached me and said, "Miss. This is a traffic light. You cannot walk when the red light is on. Doesn't mean that the road is clear you can cross the road. Can i have your IC please."
GOsh! This is so totally unexpected! It was as though they were hiding behind the bushes cos it was a total blindspot!!!! Luckily, they only warned me. They didn't fine me the potential $20 fine. heheheh
And i thought it was just a scam to scare people when i read about it on the papers.
OK OK ok....
Sighhh
CAN YOU GUYS BELIEVE IT?!?!?! THEY PULLED MY LEG!!!! They only teased me about Taufik chauferring my boss' newly won car! How could they! And i was sooooo gullible to have fallen for it! Gosh! And to think that i have told this one secretary i'm not so close to about it. So EMbarassing! I mean imagine if she asked to verify the story with the other advisers who went, of course they'd say no such thing and that secretary would think that either i'm a big fat liar or just a plain BOASTER (ntah harper!)
But we were so excited when they finally got back to the office.. But nobody seemed to own any Hp w video recording capabilities. Those who have camera phone either didn't wanna go up front to take pictures or their memory full!!!!! this is crazy! Luckily one out of the whole 50 close-knitted group of advisers have managed to take one lousy picture. I'll try to put it up here when i get hold of it.
Salmah came in first and we quickly asked her to tell us the story and the first question i asked was : Taufik really chauferred Jessie's new car to her? Salmah said: No lahhh they were pulling your leg!!! My initial reaction was: What?!?!?! They lied to me?!?! Second reaction: oh ok at least she didn't actually really get to be driven by Taufik else i'd be dead jealous! So i won't begrudge her the Chevrolet.
THe next thing i know i was being imposed this question: Which i would rather have: a date with Taufik or the car?
At first my quick answer to them was: I don't know. (heheh but tt's really bcos i didn't hear what they were asking cos they were so excited. we all were!) But after the air cooled down, they asked me again and i said.... "Hmmm I'll take the car cos car got long-term benefit whereas the date w taufik is only a day" She seemed dissatified with my answer! Boleh gitu! heheheh Dia kata tapi date with taufik will last in the memory forever... Hmmm in my mind i was saying: Alahai.. aku nih pelupa... all my previous holiday semua i dont quite remember let alone this date. Tapi klw dpt date dgn dia at least boleh jadi kawan forever kan best... ahhh kereta lah more important!
Anyways back to reality. Jessie is selling her car bcos her Nissan Sunny is better than the chevrolet. I might just psycho her to sell to me at half price or what. hehehehe
Taufik Craze Over. NOT
This morning work started very slowly... No bosses around. that's because all of the advisers had to attend this convention called Flying Start 2005 where there are lucky draws and to celebrate last year's achievement.
So we, the secretaries, took the opportunity to undo our Christmas decoration (finally!)... soon i heard 1 sms come in. Then sharifah had to go answer a call, it was for me, another msg came in then the other office line rang and sharifah rushed to the phone. All those sms and calls were for me from the advisers who were at the convention to tell me one same thing: TAUFIK IS PERFORMING ON STAGE LIVE!!!
I can't believe this! How lucky they are!!! First, i answered call from Jessie (my boss) then i told her to go video record it for me. Then Hazel called my hp to let me hear some more. Then Yong Phio (my other boss) called me to let me hear the rest of I Dream. although before that he had already sung Me and MRs Jones! Kat and Mel smsed me about it too. They all said they wanted to go greet him later! Unfair! unfair!!! If only they had told us, i could have gone there too!
To add salt on my already sore heart. Jessie won a Chevrolet but not just that! THE CAR WAS CHAUFFERRED TO HER BY TAUFIK!!!!! HOw crazy is that?!?!?!?!? Gosh!! They're not back in the office yet so i dont know how many pictures taken or what they talked about and all.
We (mainly me and Sharifah) have no mood already to work. Sharifah who was outside on errands when she found out was smiling like a crazy person all the way back to the office!
WE ARE ON CLOUD 9!
But i did say to Sharifah, Taufik must be tired of singing I Dream so many times! heheheh Hey Girls. have you got his CD already? Who bought the pre-sale can go collect it tmrw already! So clear your ear and put on the sound system!
Biar Betul Unfortunate Events?!
Hmmmmmmmm Been wanting to blog this for ages! But asyik tak terblog ajer...
I went to watch Biar Betul one of the weekday nights a few days ago with Kak ly and kak long... It's not diff to expect tt Kak Ly slept through most of it and kak long too a bit here and there! After we went out, they said that it was the slowest movie they've ever watched. so long it took them to reach the plot lah whatever... But, on the contrary, i cried at the ending! It had really moved me when i put myself in Shani's position crying over her brothers. I don't wish to write spoilers for those who havent seen the movie but i wish there's somebody who share my approval to that movie. Because to me its not slow at all! Much better than the typical malay drama on TV ya know. The jokes are not that lame either as most typical malay movies are. I really salute.
And when is this Unfortunate Events going to be screened nih?! PEnat guey menunggunya tau! Started to read the book already. One fateful day, ayah was on leave and couldnt send me to work so i took the train... and that particular day i got a flyer from a girl and i saw it said "San Bookstore. Buy Sell or Rent Books" Interesting. and it's just next door at Amara S.C so i decided to check it out with my cousin that same day during lunch time. and i immediately saw The Unfortunate Events (or rather i asked her where is it cos i couldnt see them in the library at all!) Unfortunately, (now misfortune has started befalling me already the future reader of Unfortunate Events?) the Book 1 was on loan so i rented Book 2 and 3 instead bearing in mind that Nani said it was not so diff to understand if we start half way.
And my it WAS interesting! So interesting that i finished reading it in 2 days! ok ok that's not so fast for such an easy-read book but i'm a hardworking employee ya know so not tt much time (though i had to fight the very strong urge to read during working hours) and i had been the morning shift driver also those few days and in the ride home i slept! hehehe Later on i borrow Books 5 and 9 from the library. But Book 9 was a bit too far for me that when i read Book 6 i know already who Esme is, though i still canNOT imagine what Count Olaf was up to! And after awhile it get kinda stale doesnt it? I mean 8 series of the same outline of the story... U kinda know what to expect. But the books still put you on the edge! After that i borrowed from the library Lemony Snicket : The Anauthorised Autobiography. I read through halfway it's kinda boring for me for the simple reason that it is so the long-winded and complicated that i dont understand and just tossed it aside. and i can tell ya it's a BIG BIG SPOILEr!!!! Especially about the V.F.D thingy!! But i thought i saw the book being published in the middle of the series. I just dont understand Why!!!
heheh u must be confused about my feelings for the book. oklah My conclusive Review about the book Series of Unfortunate Events is: It's a good read but Read in sequence and DON'T Read the Autobiography unless you've finished all the series. And watch the movie!!!!!!
So long now. Have a nice day everybody!
Amiran's Cafe
Happy New Year!!
Actually i always make a point to try not to begin wishing pple happy new year bcos its so silly to do so. Like its just another year what's there to be celebrating about? I don wanna sound so squarish but then i don wanna sound 'wild' either from the Islamic perspective... Basically new year is no big deal. Big deal is DEATH and LIFE.
But then today the whole day had been nothing so much. Just lazed around in the house... watching the BBC, CNN and ChannelNewsAsia on their Asian Tsunami coverage until Mummy came home just a bit before maghrib and said, "amacam? nak gi Amiran's?"
YES I WANT!!!!! i've been wanting to go to Amiran's for so so long! It's been so long since i've last been there! And Shirah's gone back to her father's home for the weekend and kak long was home. Contacted kak Ly and she was with Nur at BUGIS so everybody can go already....
But then kak ly msg me saying that they were SUPER tired after an afternoon of shopping that if they couldn't handle it any longer they'd just go home first. Truthfully, i was a bit sad at that bcos it would then mean that there's only mummy ayah me and kak long and she's going off early to go watch Arsenal match. i just replied to her that today is a rare occasion where 1. I want to treat them. 2. kak long's around 3. Shirah's not around and besides, it would be something like a very belated bday dinner (mine)! She didn't reply.
And then while kak long was ironing her clothes she asked me if it would be a good idea to ask her BF Farhad along! and i said YES!! That'd be nice! The whole family would get to know him! Then i had the task of telling it to mummy. Mummy just said ok and said that just now she picked up a call from Farhad also lah. Meaning to say that she doesnt mind at all. But Kak long of course were a bit hmmm nervous about the whole idea. and I took this opportunity to tell the girls to not miss the chance to see this Farhad guy! and of course they said they wouldnt for the life of them!
So i called Amiran's to make a reservation and the guy asked me under whose name would it be? and i said Julissa and spelled it out for him and surprisingly he said, "You can't be Julissa from Zac Meat?"
Me: Oh yes I am! Or at least i was. I dont work there anymore. Who;s that?
Guy: Shah. I heard from Kak Zaleha that you're not working there anymore. Asal berhenti? Kesian Zac Meat. Cik Hamid pon dah nak berhenti. U pernah jumpa kak Zaleha ke tak?
Me: ah tu lah... tak pernah nampak lagi!
Shah: Ah takpe nanti dlm kul 8 8.10 gitu i suruh dia keluar.
WOW! Am i surprised or am i surprised? They still remember me! and i don even know who's this Shah person! I just know Kak Zaleha and we havent even met yet! Amazing how we can be very close to our customers! :D I feel very honoured.
We arrived SUPER late. I had told them we would arrive a bit later like 8.30 ( in order not to let them give up our seats) but we really got there at 8.49pm! I felt so guilty lah actually but it was cushioned by the fact that there were not so many people. As in like we didn't make them lose money by not being able to give people seats to eat or anything. And actually this is my first time being at the new location! (which is just a street away!) and it's nice and big and cool! Best! Only of course the parking is diff.
We had a great time we all. With no restrictions on what to eat and we ordered everything we wanted. we even ordered TWO baskets of Calamari! My isn't that just luxurious! Tapi baru puas hati klw gitu! and promptly Kak Zaleha also came out from the kitchen... And i intro her to my family... and she said me and mummy looked exactly alike!!! and i asked if they were still taking from ZM... more items or just still Beef Bacon only? but they said biasa jer... and then to end the conversation i said, ok nanti masakkan kita sedap2 ok?!
I wanted to eat lasagne actually cos it's been such a long time since i had one! but then the thought of lasagne only for dinner is a bit disheartening. So i just ordered MaryLand Chicken (one of my reg menu there) and apentah Nur pon nak order tu. But i didn't wanna change mine this time. usually i mmg tak suka klw on one table got two of the same dish. Thought that it would be more colourful with diff diff plates of food. Anyway tonight i fought the urge to change cos i do love MaryLand Chicken and i akan terkilan klw tak makan tu! But sadly, it turned out not as nice as before lah. It was a bit dry tonight... But I still Love and Support Amiran's!!!
And then this Farhad guy came. I thought he only wanted to hang around before fetching kak long to see the game. But i was surprised to see he ordered a fish & Chips and My! did they give a BIG servign or what! kerherhkhkererhk He's Tall Dark and *Toot* i think he's got sharp teeth that make the smile outstanding and didn't have problem talking to our parents. He's a computer man who works at IBM just next door at Park View square (Yes! It's the building that has goot all those creepy statues!) Overall ok lah. I dont even mind paying for his meal cos.... I feel so happy tonight that we finally got to sit down for dinner together... It's been a very very very long time since.
And i feel so so happy.. its as though i've jsut got my sister back... I can lepak in her room again and we talk as per normal and all that. Oh Gosh... I'm sohappy i wanna cry now...
good night people.
PS: My resolution is to be thinner than 2004. May God be with us.
What?!
Oh GOsh!!! I really dont like this! I just went down to collect wines for my bosses!!! tak ke gila tu?! I was just aghast when Sharifah (my colleague) told me i had to down to take them and i exclaimed "What?! I dont want!!" And there was this Chinese Manager sitting down there. He would probably be thinking "whats up with this kid don wanna do work" But i dont care it is just so disgusting just thinking about it!
But at last after so much so much hesitation i asked sharifah how? She said "terpaksa lah dah tugas... lagi pon ada beg lah bukan pegang gitu" So i reluctantly went down. And another malay colleague saw me bringing them bottles. EEEE!!
Aku nih dah lah banyak dosa nak tanggung dosa nih pulak! Actually i tried to get my chinese friend to go get it, but she was just so blur and i felt so ridiculous asking her to do it for me. Even though i WAS reluctant, i also felt macam conscious that people might say that Islam is nonsensical lah like cannot touch this and that. I dont want them to think of it that way. Sighhh
I just wanted to puke at myself.
Worst we are working on full day today being Xmas eve and all. and the rest of the secretaries are going out for lunch together for celebration since they all get half day! Ntah Harper!!! Sharifah told me she sms Kamal "Fri half day?" then he said "All the advisers are running for production (which translates to working hard), so what do you think?" So sharifah had to reply "ok full day."
But to end this entry, i just wanna say "let's be ceria"
"It's a small world but i wouldn't wanna paint it"
The title is the nick of the very creative kak Maryam. Oops sorry that's her nick last time in IRC! (GOSH! Is that a long time ago or what?!) Kak Norzamaria to be exact. She's very creative. And fun to be with! actually i had almost forgotten how fun she was until when she msg me in MSn one day to ask for my add to invite to her wedding.
And then we talked and talked hehehe.. she read my blog and i read hers... Hers was very funny!! but the link is at the office can't cut n paste here since im at home now.
And anyways after reading my latest entry in the blog about the hari raya thingy she commented "Wow! U nearly got married!" in view of my concern for my friend's reaction when i told them the news, she shared with me her story...
She had known this guy in IRC before, at first he seemed very nice and baik But then he was a tad too suspicious and secretive... Like not telling the real him, his qualification da da da da... And later she got to know his fiance was her friend...
The next time she saw her friend, she told her that she's filing for a divorce... He's a wife beater, a liar (still chatted like crazy talking to girls saying his single and stuff)
the MORAL OF THE STORY: It is better to break off an engagement rather than marry then regret and get a divorce. After all, engagement is the time that we got to know more about our spouse to be. We hafta change our society's mindset where they think that it's not NICE to break off an engagement. Like jgn sakitkan hati dia ker apa ker gitu... It's gonna be a life changing decision but we gotta just do what we think is right, period.
Hari Raya Pre-u2000
This is a bit of a stale story... But eventful nonetheless!!
Mah, Y, Nul and I met at Spotlight Tampines the morning of 4th Dec04. We hired a van which happened to be Noor Mohd Travel's and we set off for Zihah's house at about 10:30am. the others will be joining later... read on babes...
As usual the highlight at Zihah's place would be MACROON!!!!!!!! And Zihah's mum cooked us a baked beans w meat to eat with french loaves for breakfast. But most importantly we now have learnt the art of Blurting!!! It's a card game where one read out loud the deFUNition of a word as shown in card and the listeners were supposed to guess/shout/blurt the correct answer quickly. the fastest will get that card and collect as many till the whole deck finishes. 'Azma for one - who claimed that she's a supposedly calm poised twice thinking cautious kinda person - got the hang of the game and got many cards!!! I love word games!! also check out Super Text Twist at Yahoo!Games. Oh Yeah Sarah joined us at Zihah's place. oh and Zihah's mum and Kak Taty had to go out after that. her mum said "nak pergi johor lah nak CARI barang." Hmmm i was already suspicious then.. CARi barang eh... smells like a wedding is brewing!! Tapi siapa sey? Kak Zakiah dah kahwin... takkan kak Taty pulak kot? Found out later rupanya Abang dia dah yg nak kahwin... abih macma secretive eh gitu... krekhrekhekhre
So out we go to Ustazah Samiah's house now. But before that we went to fetch Fidza and Hidayah from White Sands! So now there were 8 of us there. Believe it or not guys... it was my first time there! And im sooo impressed! the house is like HUGE!!! and they live there only the 3 of them? what are they doing w the rest of the space left? I'm so glad i went to Ustazah Sam's house this year... It just reminds me how much i had loved her lessons back in Pre-U cos she would like to story2 to us and i particular like to hear her opinions on theological theories and look up to her to find Fiqh's asnwers. Don't we all? *Wink*
One particular thing i remembered her saying was about keeping pets at home. Fidza and i were talking about the fish tank that she has and she went up to Ustaza and asked boleh ke kita pelihara ikan? Her words "Ikan mmg hidup dlm laut. yg tak boleh tu macam binatang liar dikurung... burung disangkar. tapi tgk lah ada maslahat ke tdk. Macam kat zoo tu kita nak jaga... tapi awak jangan BELI kucing." and the discussion went on and on and on... Kitorang just macam tak nak balik gitu.. Sampaikan terlambat nak gi rumah Ainul nak jumpa mak dia..
On the way to Ainul's place, i had to confess something to the rest of my fellow goodest friends... I had called off the wedding w Hazmi! I've been meaning to tell them even back at Y's place.. but just didnt know how to put it in words. and now is the best time to tell bcos more pple are present. Anyways i told them how i am very uncomfortable communicating w him and i often feel intimidated and repressed when im him. repressed in the sense that i restrain from saying my thoughts cos i simply couldn't perhaps i didnt like the way he'd react and stuff... To my surprise my friends were all very supportive!! Fidza in particular asked me if i feel happy now that i'm not with him anymore. I said YES. and she said "ah bagus lah maknenya" I didnt deny to them that i told he was actually an excellent candidate to be a husband w his stability of a job, parents would love him... my parents did... but he didnt fulfill me mentally nor emotionally.. THough i can tell ya he's hell of a romantic mushy2 guy. Unfortunately for him, i'm not the sort who go for that (weird huh?) and i had to break his heart... ANyways.. Zihah did comment like i should have given it a shot because it was too soon to tell, there might be a chance of a compromise and all... Yeah it's true lah Zihah, of course.. but well im sorry but im just degil. hee Frankly, i tot i would have gotten remarks like "what a waste JUs!" or "tak baiknye!" or "gila ke?" But they are so understanding. Oh lord, I love my friends! Bless them all!
So ...At Ainul's place, tasted the bestest kuih tart!!!!! and Ate the bestest mee hoon goreng kicap/black pepper!!!! and we prayed zohor there also. She's got a newly renovated toilet!!! and it's nice w bath tub and some greeneries in there.. if it's a dry toilet even better! Anyway... unfortunately, we didnt get to talk much w Ainul's mum, she's leaving for a jemputan already..
So next is 'Azma's house. Sarhani joined us here. Azma's mum is so cute!! and boy did we have a feast?!?! There were nasi goreng with fried dory fish (alahhh... yg macam fish & chip tu)... ice cream lah longan lah!! I didnt have ice cream though but i hentam the longan cukup2!! khererhkerhkerhkerhk Shiok babe! but what would be shioker would be my mummy to be there to kopek2kan the longan! hehehe *manja*
we kept on teasing Hidayah about her going to have to build toilets for the poor vietnamese... and Azma's mum's joined in teasing her... and then we TEased Cik Zaleha back asking if she remembers/knows Fidza and Sarah...
Next is of course, none other than Ustazah Sukarti's house.. sakinah, her daughter, opened the door for us. Suddenly i felt a bond with her and smiled so wide at her as i came in. We were in the same group at the last Night Cycling event... Funny that only now that we are older that we are closer.. anyways.. we (ustazah and the gang) talked about PSLE results, her popular kuih tart at MUIS and others... Then at one part we were talking how NUS is a Maarif's port lah gitu... and then suddenly ustazah looked and me and said, "ah yelah tapi si dia ni, results bagus boleh dpat masok pon tak nak sambung belajar!" I was like stunned... it took me about 3 seconds to actualyl understand and digest what she was talking about and quickly replied when i recovered "oh! the next yr tu saya apply jugak NUS - Business tapi tak dpt" and she just Ohhed...
i was in two minds whether to feel flattered or offended 1. flattered bcos she remembered and acknowledged that i had a so called good results (though i didnt get any As at all) 2. offended that she thought i didnt and wasnt capable of studying some more. But as Eugene Low, producer of Slice of Life by NewsRadio, said to be happy one should not SPECULATE what others think or feel about what we said or did. Why waste our energy? instead we can either 1.clarify or 2.learn to not care about it. 3.think positive. So i just stick to feel flattered lah. hehehe
Anyways after that its the long journey to Zakiah's house to pick her up. There, poor Azma got a bad overflow on her baju kurung. She went to wash it and dry/iron it while we all ate mee goreng and peach tea!! we watched albums and saw this strange drama One Tree Hill or whatever (Y's so crazy over it) and we kept on saying how Evolution is such a lousy movie... Actually the ending yg merepeQ takleh handle. I remember i was sooo disappointed after watching that movie kerana ceritanya adalah tersungguhlah yang termerepek yang teramat lah tersangat nye! Sarhani said it's a guy's movie. *shrug*
Then we sent Hidayah home. Prayed Asar there. Looked at Mahathir's pictures on her notebook!!! We saw Huda also... She's so big now! and her hair's like HIdayah said is a 'SHROOM' nice!!! and there's beef steak for dinner! khrekherhkrekher not only that and also nuggets exactly like McDonald's! HIdayah's mother remembered all of our names even the Al-Sagoff ones! And we said Good bye to Hidayah and safe journey the next day. She had to leave early cos she still need to pack!! Ish ish ish
Ok Next is Sarhani's house at Admiralty. It's a jumbo house... I know she has a lot of siblings but ke-a lot-annye menyerlah yakni ketika berada di dlm rumahnye. Again it was my first time going to her house there... initially i thought Hmmm still quite small considering the no of pple in the house but actually i didn't see two room doors furthest away from the main door. ibarat diselindungi dengan perabot. and we prayed Maghrib there and we went into her room. Ok now That's HUGE! It's actually a kitchen combined w one room and toilet in there all.. and 3 of the sisters sleep there. Best! best sekali!! Then her mum cooked for us Mee rebus! Ya ALlah by that time we were all full already! I shared mine w Fidza. Lord was she glad or what! kerhkerkherkher Her youngest baby brother is the cutest in the world! heheheh i made this face where i suck in my cheek to make lips like the fish and move them and he was totally amazed by it! heheheh he got distracted while taking photo bcos of that. one thing i'd like to note here, i was happy but yet felt a bit strange that they are such a loving siblings.. They kissed him so many times and they like to carry him around.. i mean they just love their baby bro even after so many babies in the family... (klw kita agaknye dah naik menyampah dan malas dgn baby) tapi BAgus bagus... :D
Next still in Nazariah's wedding!!!! Oh my gosh i've just lost contact w her sey after graduation except for this one time i bumped into her at Ang Mo Kio MRT and she said she was engaged already. heheheh Actually we were soooo soo full that we didn't eat anymore.. I just tasted the kuih tart and drank some. Azma did try the mee putih though (she just loves that!) We signed a guest book and we saw zakhirah there.. Actually we got real pissed off by the MC that night. He sounded so gayish and his jokes were not funny and he commented on unneccessary stuffs. To put in simply LAME!!!!! But i thought Naz looked nice that night although her outfit is kinda revealing... see through sleeves (but she wore tight t-shirt inside) and the material on the chest was also see through but she covered with scarf or what and tudung dia bangsa ikat belakang... But i understand lah ibarat wedding is the time where u get to dress up and i totally understand if she wanted to wear that.. yelah takut kempunan ke apentah gitu. and please note that the wedding dress and the groom's wear were both PINK! It's real nice! i thought Jalil looked real smart that night! My first time seeing him actually. I wish them the best.
The Final Pit stop of the race is My House!!!!! back to woodlands from Sengkang just now and we all laid back and watched my recorded Singapore Idol!!! Oh Taufik ku! hehehe Truthfully, it was my first time watching it again that day. so it was dead fun! until i nearly forgot to serve my dear friends with drinks!!! So immersed and absorbed from watching taufik... Dahlah cerita tu lama kan.. At last jorang balik kul 11:15!!! heheh kesian abih van pon dah takde.. i wonder how they went home... Easy for Sarhani so near... the tampines pple mesti naik taxi punya! khrekerkhrekherkh
Kita masih blom tau lah nak upload gambar kat sini.. Sorry yek...
Eh korang nih tak penat ke baca blog kita yg panjang lebar nih? Bet you just skimmed through after awhile right? *wink* krekherkherkherkherkher BYe ... (feel so relieved dah habis ceritakan ni)
Y's open house.
I was early at y's house. I was there by 7pm but Azma and hidayah were still TM shopping. so i thought i didnt wanna go up yet cos it'd be so awkward and everything. so i walked deliberately to her void deck and stayed there till 7.30 and went up.
There were only family members there then... so i settled down, i talked to some of her cousins nearer our age while watching tv (Home Alone 4!!) sipping zapple and munching mars. in my heart "DAMN! where are those girls?" Her parents kept telling me to go and eat before other guests arrive but i kept telling them that im waiting for the rest to eat together...
Sighhh and finally Azma and Hidayah came... even then they had to rush for maghrib prayers! it was nearly 8pm i guess and they were so late! At last they came out and we settled down with our foods.
Soon Khairiah came and we had a shock cos she put on the tudung panjang now! She looks nice in it. I'm happy for her. :) but i thought i could see some sadness in her?? i don really know her life updates nowadays so im not sure whats in her mind...
But overall we were very happily chatting away... it was great to be with familiar friends. then Zihah came and we went berserk or what?! What with Hidayah's story about The Visit!!!!
Oh my gosh, It was sooo romantic and fantastic or what!? She had this crush on this guy from NUS the names Mahathir. He's like the dream guy for her but he didnt seem to notice her or so she said some time ago. in her words "Hey if i do like a guy it would be Mahathir. but he's not even in Singapore and he doesnt even notice me!" But Heck! Just one day out of the blue, a friend of hers asked if she's going to Mahathir's house and she answered "no, he's just a normal acquaintance" and There this mahathir gave her a call and asked if he could drop by for Hari raya!! BUTTTTTT the funny thing issssssss No 1: He's alone No.2: He's fasting No.3: out of the blue?!?!?!?!? WOWWW Hidayah got a shock of her life or what?! But the main issue now is... What was his motive? I mean i so understand hidayah's situation like... i wouldnt wanna put hope on something that is so uncertain and unclear right now.
Like Why did he do that? did he like me? He didnt say or indicated anything tt he did. Oh what am i to do? I pray the best for Hidayah... *HUGS*
and then there came this group of guests... Hey these pple are from Multazam!! Oh my gosh they didn't grow up a bit! They still looked VERY kiddish! There were namely: Mehroon, Hafiz Alwi, shahrafiq and Faizal mata batu. How come Y invited them?!?!?! Well we didnt talk to them save for the last part where we were going off and we salamed the girls. Ohh so scandalous if we were to talk about Hafiz Alwi and Khairiah!! OH my gosh!! Lucky Fawzan wasnt there!!!!! hkshkahkahkahkahkahkahk It would be a big blast of laughter i tell ya!
Then there came HIlma and the sister... Oh my gosh are they twins or what? they look sooo similar to one another except that the younger sister is chubbier. and they looked sooo nice and pretty in pink! Im sooo envious of their figure!! No wonder Asri likes Hilma! she's such a nice sweet lady. (is she taller than him? hkerhkerhkerhk) Hmmm but its amazing how some of them know me? i mean Y's cousins know me but i don exactly remember their names and Hilma's sister knew me too only she didnt remember my name. Im so bad at remembering faces nor names i feel ashamed of myself.
Well during the feast, friends kept asking me what are the updates from my end. What have i prepared have i set the date. Hmmm but i told them i couldnt tell them then.. Excuses like the rest are not here yet.. there are so many pple... things like tt. Truth is im not ready to tell them yet. with their interrogation and all that. I'd just dont want them to think of me differently...
and during the feast also, Nani called Azma first. Mah said Nan didnt know we were all at Y's place. I asked Nan to call my hp cos there's loudspeaker so everybody could hear,... and BOy did EVERYBODY hear!! erklerhkerhkerhk it was rather loud even amidst the chaos of the other guests. we were sort of embarrassed so we kept it short.
But i felt so proud to be among my friends especially when i heard Cik Julia telling her guests abt my friends and how Y introduced my friends to the other family... "Nih Zihah dia kat SMU, 'Azma NUS, Hidayah NUS, Khairiah NTU - NIE..." and me im just plain Julissa working for an insurance company, in short a nobody. But im so proud of my friends for being where they are.. There was a time a few days ago when i thought i really do wanna do degree in UIA although im not quite sure yet to go about doing it... But i do.. But perhaps not in Business... but something Mathematical? It has always been my interest deep down. Though i know im very careless at it. heheh But actually when i hear that my friends are so stressed up with exams and everything.. i got a bit skeptical about going back to school.. This one must sort out later.
Then the 5 of us went to Khairiah's place which is just about 5min walk away (but with our stops for laughs took us probably 10min! heheh) When i stepped into the house then i remembered "oh my gosh, its been so long since i've last been here!" and true enough Khairiah's mum said "e eh awak.... lama tenggelam" and i just made a joke out of it "a ah tenggelam tapi skrg dah timbul balik pasal dah gemuk!" The house have changed very much... the furniture and all that stuff. and Boy i couldnt wait to attack them kuihs!! I am so crazy about finding out whose house got the best pineapple tart. (so far it's my Mak busu's house at CCK but i only got to taste it once) and im still hunting for the best cornflake's kuih... but im also very cerewet cannot have strawberry, no nuts and stuff...
Anyways, i felt like we were so grown up at Khairiah's place. Talking to her mum made me feel important or rather adultish... Like when was the last time i visit somebody;s house and talked to the adult? (besides the typical 'Selamat hari raya cik' 'cik bikin kuih sendiri?') we talked about school and the people we know like Cik Rosmah and daughters namely the intelligent Munirah whom Hidayah knows. oh and we talked about Melbourne, Australia... Nani and the other relatives of theirs being there and all... But then again we thought that maybe Khairiah's mum is very lonely at home.. With Khairiah's at the hostel and father's on shift work... But im sure she has lotsa ways to spend her time with! :)
Then, we got comfy in Khairiah's bedroom with the aircon on and all... Her bedroom's nice! She's got rid of the bed frame but left the mattress on the floor like tt. Its like sooo IN right now.. heheh Sad that she doesnt spend all the time there...
Alas, the night is to end.. It was almost 11pm already!! We didnt wanna keep Khairiah's mum up too long now eh. so we left the house.. Hidayah and i GRRRed at Ziah and Azma who live just nearby!! But on the way to the bus stops who did we meet but Munirah herself and her sisters! what a coincident. we had just been talking about them! hehehe
After buying something at McD for Hidayah's beloved brother... we took the cab home. (the driver was irritating! I don even know how to begin to tell u abt him! But that's all for now. It's been a very long entry!!!!
