2 working days after visiting this mediterranean restaurant for the first time, we decided to come back and try other stuffs.

Moutabal $7 Lebanese bread $3 for 3 halves

I thought the moutabal (made of eggplants which I raved about during my Syria trip) was a bit creamy and heavy. It has a slight yellow/green tinge too when most of the ones I ate were plain white.

Their Snack - Chicken pide $5

Very unlike Turkish Cafe's pides (pee-day?). They were sour with too many diced onions (hate them) and no visible cheese (love them).

There were pickles, tomato and fries in this wrap. I removed the tomato and pickles (vegephobic altho tomato is not really a vege) but still it was too.... sour for my liking. We deduced that it was the tahini sauce (white stuff on the beef strips, also an ingredient in the moutabal) that's ruining everything! I gave up trying to eat any of that. Instead I tore pieces of the unmutilated bread to eat w the moutabal.

I guess, we're all not foreign-tongued after all~ haha.

They are not certified but food is halal. As is with everywhere in town during lunchtime, it was quite packed. But this one is quite popular with foreigners.

While, the service was a bit on the slow side, we were happy to wait to eat our Hummus and others! Plus now that Turkish Cafe at Amara is closed, this is the nearest mediterranean food to the office!

Ash was saying this is prolly cheaper than Eatz19. But I said, let's see how the serving goes and also, drink is not included. $2 soft drink.

Mushroom Soup was ok but could be better Just slightly watery w mushroom so small it seemed pulsed on the processor

Totally reminded me of Syria trip last december... Coincidentally I was also wearing the jalabiyah from there too!

Anyways, it was my first time tasting a felafel and to me it was heaven. Very crunchy. But for Ash, she said she's tasted better *shrug*.

Very nice overall. But i think next time, I will order a whole plate of Moutabal ($7) and main of Chicken Pide($5)! I almost went crazy going through their menu, I feel like going there everyday!

Treated the family to The Asian Market Cafe @ Fairmont (aka Swissotel, prevly Westin Stamford). I've only just knew a month or two ago that this hotel is serving HALAL Asian Buffet. At $36++ for Adult's Hi Tea, its not too exp as compared to Hyatt's Straits Kitchen serving Asian too.

We had a reservation for 12nn. Ly & family could not join us cause she's in her last trimester and she can't take too much food.

Photos are half-passed with the poor lighting (for phototaking, but is totally nice and romantic in real) but I couldn't care less if people were to judge my camera skill because this blog is not about that. It's about documenting the interesting points of my life.

Believe it or not, this is my 1,000th post!! Over 5years of writing.. Ok i've got a handful still in draft from don't know when. But i'm still here!

We had a work function at our University somewhere in Orchard. It's actually a very OLD but HUGE bangalow that's been refurbished.
