Thistle Hotel ex-Grand Hyatt

13th Dec 2010.

We got a treat from sis at Thistle Hotel in JB. Although it only starts at 12.30pm, we had to go out like 10.30am as we were expecting a long queue at the immigration due to a lane being closed around the construction.

But at last, we reached here!

Hotel Lobby

The stairs on the right leads to this...
Two bars/restaurants called Steps
A little bit further down and we've reached...

Glass
Salad offering

We were seated near the lovely fountain and near the door where the aircon is. BLISS

But Tufeil & Syifaa' were just sooo distracted by the Koi pond that runs a lil bit indoors.

Got a walking treat w Atok.

Some of the main dishes.

The choices were not THAT much as compared to Carousel. Apart from the Sliced Fish w Thai sauce and Fried Prawn featured above, there were Caramelized Lamb, Ginger Beef, Salmon, two rice, one noodle, Steamed Carrots & Broccoli and fried Cabbage. There was also a special station for chicken rice and Dry Lontong.

Desserts!!!!!

There were also another section of puddings and cakes, 3 different kinds of sweet soups? (serawa bla bla bla) and don't forget the ice cream!

Tufeil were seated at the high chair. It was diff to maintain his interests in the food. Although Syifaa' did worse in the eating department. She only drank her formula milk, some kuih, a bit of noodle and some thing. well that's the great thing about this: KIDS dine for FREE!! Up to 12 yrs old.

Of course, Tufeil had to poop in the middle of lunch. Mummy noted that I came back MINUS a frowny face becauseeeeeeeeeeee the washroom is just sooooooooo lovely!! I resisted the temptation to take a snap.

There were sooooooo few customers, the workers had nothing to do! So we felt a bit embarrassed about our noisy children. Wish they could "work" by entertaining them! hahaha. Well... u noticed all the glasses, I'm sure. Very bad for active children running around. Both of them bumped into one of the side panels just minutes apart from each other! Tufeil got a slight bruise from it on his forehead =( But they LOVEDDD the stairs.

Conclusion: Foodwise it's mediocre but hey the price is mediocre too at RM56 per person thereabouts but the place is elegant.
After our mandatory grocery shopping at Angsana, we stopped by a relative's place:

Her living room.
Wow! Dig the high ceiling.

My favourite animal in the world!

Weeeee I caught it! Not! The uncle caught and calmed it and passed to me.

It was dark by the time we left and we went out via the back door. and the darkness and coolness in the air just caught me off guard. Reminded me of Pakistan. =( =) Don't know want to smile or cry.

It was 11pm by the time we reached home.
